Eudora man, 27, arrested after domestic disturbance

Eudora police arrested a 27-year-old man Thursday morning on suspicion of aggravated battery and criminal restraint after a woman was injured in a domestic disturbance.

Cpl. Chris Casagrande said officers were called about 7:30 a.m. to a domestic disturbance at the residence in the 900 block of Maple Street. The woman was treated for injuries at the scene but declined to be transported to the hospital, he said.

Casagrande said her injuries were not life threatening, but officers believed they warranted an arrest on an aggravated battery charge for the man. No weapons were used in the incident. The man was taken to the Douglas County Jail and was being held without bound as prosecutors decide on formal charges. Prosecutors could file charges Friday.

The Journal-World generally does not identify suspects unless they are formally charged.
