Kansas City, Mo. ? Baker University’s football team was picked third in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll released Monday at the media day event at Kauffman Stadium.

Baker received 75 out of a possible 100 voting points to finish No. 3. MidAmerica Nazarene (100 points) was picked first, while Missouri Valley College (89 points) was second.

No. 23 Baker will open the season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 27 against No. 10 Ottawa University in Baldwin City.
