Downed power lines — due to strong winds — have caused several power outages across Lawrence, according to emergency dispatch scanner traffic.
A recent report was of a power line down near the corner of 5th and Mississippi streets.
According to Westar Energy's power outage map, nearly 100 Douglas County residents are without power as of 2:40 p.m.
Power outages seemed to be concentrated to an area near 9th and Iowa streets, as well as near 23rd and Iowa streets.

Exactly one drop of rain fell on my lawn. The closest living blade of grass gobbled it up like a happy fat kid.
