“Coffee with Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins” will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Aug. 19 at the Kansas University School of Pharmacy, 2010 Becker Drive on the West Campus.

The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, which asks those who plan to attend to make a reservation at lawrencechamber.com or by calling 865-4411.

A similar event scheduled for last month had to be canceled because Jenkins, R-Kan., was still in Washington as Congress worked on budget issues.

And of course, she only comes when most people are working. She will only get the fat cats who are just giving up their golf time and retired people.

Heh. Last time I saw Lynn Jenkins it was before the election when she told a young mother to "Shut up and grow up."

Will any person with an ounce of brains show up? And will she be smart enough to answer any questions, even if allowed that she doesn't already have scripted answer for. She is even more clueless than either Bachmann or the dumb broad from Alaska.

Perhaps the honorable congresswoman should have her meet and greet on an evening or weekend when the general public could attend. She'd probably be shredded with not so fun questions.

guessing she has recovered from the stroke?

Obama is charging $35,000 for sit with him and have coffee. And Jenkins probably won't answer questions from the public. Remind me, why do we vote for Democrats and Republicans?

I would attend only if the Chamber will allow people to ask her the tough questions that go beyond the political talking points. Otherwise, its a waste of time.
