Police investigating cause of single-vehicle roundabout accident at Lake Pointe Drive and Clinton Parkway
Lawrence police Friday were investigating to determine whether alcohol or speed were factors in an early morning one-vehicle accident in southwest Lawrence, said Sgt. Matt Sarna, a police spokesman.
Sarna said a 48-year-old Lawrence man was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after the 2010 Ford truck he was driving at 3:20 a.m. Friday struck the roundabout at Lake Pointe Drive and Clinton Parkway.
The man’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Sarna said.
The driver is suspected of leaving the scene of an earlier accident after 2 a.m. in the 2200 block of Iowa Street, police said. A light pole and parked vehicle were struck in the accident.
