KU golf sits in 7th at Big 12’s

? Kansas golfers Chris Gilbert and Doug Quinones were tied for 16th individually on Tuesday after the second day of the Big 12 Championships, where the Jayhawks sat in seventh place as a team.

Gilbert shot a 69 in the third round on Tuesday, while Quinones fired a 71. The Jayhawks sport a tournament total of 879, one stroke behind Missouri.

Defending champion Oklahoma State has a 12-stroke lead over the rest of the field.

“I am very pleased,” KU coach Kit Grove said. “It was a good day today. The weather was good, there were some light winds, but nothing too bad.”

The fourth and final round will take place today in Hutchinson.
