A parent at Prairie Park School, 2711 Kensington Drive in southeastern Lawrence, notified school administrators Friday she had called Lawrence police because her son said a man approached him and tried to sell him candy as he walked home Thursday, said Julie Boyle, a Lawrence public schools spokeswoman.

Boyle said police are still investigating the report and that the school sent a letter home with students Friday to encourage parents to remind students about safety.
