Eisenhower Museum to display original copy of Declaration of Independence April 26-27

? The Eisenhower Museum in Abilene will display an original copy of the Declaration of Independence for two days in April.

The museum will have extended hours and reduced admission for the display on April 26-27.

The document is one of 25 known remaining original copies. About 200 copies were printed after the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776.

The Salina Journal reports that the copy to be displayed in Abilene was discovered behind a framed painting purchased for $4 at a flea market. Hollywood producer Norman Lear bought it in 2000 for $8.14 million, and it has been shown since then in nearly every state.
