Wichita ? The Kansas Forest Service is planning its annual forestry field day this year south of El Dorado.

The event on Oct. 14 features the latest resource and educational information on managing natural resources. It runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The field day will be held at the Jackman Demonstration Forest in the Butler County town of Leon.

Some of the outdoor sessions include tree identification, common tree problems, tips on turkey habitat, rangeland management and farm pond fishing.
