Hillside fans

To the editor:

Over the past few years, I have watched more and more for-profit “beer tents” take over the hill on Kansas University game days. Now, they completely block any view from the hill. Even more frustrating is the fact that they are empty as soon as the game starts.

With four kids, including an infant, it is just not feasible for us to sit inside the stadium. In the past, we could always sit on the hill with other families and still be a part of game day. As a proud KU alum, it is really sad to see a price tag put on so many of the traditions that used to make KU such a unique place. It makes me wonder if there are any KU grads on staff.

Now that the current athletic administration is changing, I would ask the powers-that-be at KU to move the beer tents to the other side of the hill and stop purposely blocking families who are just trying to sit there and enjoy the game like they have for decades.
