Severe weather watch for Douglas County allowed to expire

The severe thunderstorm watch issued by the National Weather Service for Douglas County has been allowed to expire.

6:47 p.m. Saturday

The severe thunderstorm warning for Douglas County has been allowed to expire, but a severe thunderstorm watch will continue until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

6:05 p.m. Saturday

The NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Douglas and Jefferson counties until 6:45 p.m.

Areas impacted include north-central Douglas County and southeastern Jefferson County.

Radar indicates the storm is capable of producing walnut-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

5:33 p.m. Saturday

The NWS has canceled the tornado warning for central Jefferson County, but issued a flash flood warning for central and northern Jefferson County until 8:15 p.m.

Radar estimates 1-2 inches of rain has already fallen in the area, with another inch or two possible in the next hour.

4:41 p.m. Saturday

The tornado warning for Jefferson County has been extended until 5:30 p.m. for central Jefferson County. NWS reported storm center is near Ozawkie.

4:30 p.m. Saturday

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Jefferson County until 4:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Douglas County through 10 p.m.
