Wanted: People to tag monarch butterflies on Saturday; no experience necessary

Kansas University’s Monarch Watch and the Jayhawk Audubon Society are sponsoring a free monarch butterfly tagging event for the public at the Baker University Wetlands.

The event is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the wetlands, which are along 31st Street, between Haskell and Louisiana streets.

No experience is necessary, and all ages are welcome. Tags, nets and instructions on how to tag monarchs will be provided. Check-in and information tables will be just inside the boardwalk entrance to the wetlands.
