Kansas to host aviation convention

? State aviation officials from around the country are gathering in Wichita for their annual convention, hosted by the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The event runs Saturday through Tuesday and will include presentations on the challenges facing the aviation industry over the next decade.

Officials from the 50 states, Guam and Puerto Rico also will try to reach a consensus on promoting a safe and responsive air transport system.

Other topics on the agenda include aviation sustainability, alternate fuels and customer demand.
