Judicial history group to meet in Lecompton

Members of the public are invited to join federal judges and attorneys in Lecompton Friday afternoon who will celebrate the history of the federal judiciary in Kansas.

Lecompton resident Mike Hoeflich, a Kansas University distinguished law professor and former dean, will give a short talk to the Kansas arm of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Historical Society. Hoeflich just finished a book celebrating the 150th anniversary of the federal district court of Kansas.

At 4:30 p.m., the group will tour Lecompton and the Territorial Capital Museum, 640 E. Woodson Ave. Hoeflich will begin his talk at 5:30 p.m. on the second floor of the museum.

Up to 50 members of the historical society are expected to attend.
