Starting on Monday, traffic will be reduced to one lane on a short stretch of Kansas Highway 10 in Johnson County.

To complete repair work on a bridge spanning the Union Pacific Railroad, the Kansas Department of Transportation will reduce eastbound traffic to one lane from Woodland Avenue to Ridgeview Road.

Crews will work on the left side of the bridge first and then the right side. Traffic will be restricted to an 11-foot maximum lane width during the project and speed limits will be set at 45 miles per hour.

Drivers should anticipate minor delays and are asked to find alternate routes.

Weather permitting, the work is scheduled to be completed by early October.

if the backup is really bad, College Blvd (111th Street) to the south, or Prairie Star Parkway (95th Street) to the north would be an OK alternate.

There will be much gnashing of teeth on this one. The commuters will have to drive 95 to make up for lost time.
