Verona, N.Y. ? Sophomore Chris Gilbert bounced back from a morning round of 78 to shoot a 2-under-par 70 in the afternoon to lead the Kansas University’s men’s golf team to a fifth-place standing after two rounds of the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate on Sunday.

Gilbert’s performance left him tied for fourth place individually at 148 strokes heading into today’s final round.

As a team, the Jayhawks shot a 34-over-par 308-302–610 for the day.
