A 46-year-old Lawrence woman reported to police someone used her credit card over the Internet 11 times between July 27 and Aug. 11 to make $1,962 in purchases. The woman still had possession of her card and was unsure how the suspect obtained her card number.

Mine got used too. I had mailed in a magazine subscription renewal and someone who worked at the processing renewals place took some numbers to "shop" online with.

We got hit last year. Someone got $60 of gas up in New York----we haven't been to New York in years. Oddly, my sons had been in of all places---Lawrence---- with that credit card getting some stuff at Wal-Mart and the fraud took place over Christmas break. Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out who did that: a KU student. I thought that liberal indoctrination held them to higher standards.

Probably the same way way someone obtained my credit card number 30 years ago. It was an employee of a retail store who got new carpet for his entire house on my credit card. This was in another state - not Lawrence.
