A 31-year-old Overland Park man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery Tuesday night in the 1000 block of North Third Street.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Susan Hadl, about 10:30, the man went to a hotel room with a woman who was an acquaintance. He stepped outside of the room and said he saw a dark 1980s-model TransAm car pull up and a large white male get out of the car. Hadl said the suspect forced the victim back into the hotel room and proceeded to steal various items from him, including the cell phone. No weapons were involved in the incident.

Hadl said the suspect then left with the woman who was with the victim. Police are still searching for both.

I'm guessing he lost his "arousal" after this happened.

Was this "large, white male" a pooka? It does not appear to be human in the article and is not referred to as such. This is weird. This is, too. Shut up, Harvey.

It sounds like one of the oldest set-ups since the bible scam shown in Paper Moon.

If you're after a one night stand, there are some basic rules to follow and at least the victim followed one of them: Don't take them home.

2 others are: Don't go to a hotel where the doors exit right out into the parking lot and don't leave your wallet/keys/valuables laying on a table while you go in to 'freshen up'.

If you really must take them home, lock your wallet in the trunk of your car.

LMAO.

word is that that no-tell-motel rents rooms by the hour.

so, besides getting ripped off, I wonder if out-of-town John has something to remember her by, like an STD?

and I wonder if John had a wife at home? "had" being the operative phrase.

oh yeah, I love the use of the word "acquaintance" in the article. ... yeah, riiiight!

In my case, that would be using my "left" arm a lot, although it would vary depending on the individual robber.
