Stutzman Refuse Disposal being sold; no changes planned

A trash company that serves communities in 14 Kansas counties has been sold to a California company.

Waste Connections Inc., based in Folsom, Calif., has purchasd Stutzman Refuse Disposal for an undisclosed amount. The sale will become final Nov. 1.

Waste Connections spokesman Worthington Jackmany said Monday that costumers should not see any changes in operations.

The Hutchinson News reports that Stutzman will continue to operate under the same name, with the same management and employees. Rates also will not change because the communities involved have long-term contracts.

In Kansas, Waste Connections already has operations in Wichita, Salina, Dodge City, Garden City, Ness City, Scott City, Ulysses and Harper.
