Prairie Dell Pines Christmas tree farm selected to provide governor’s tree

? It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at a western Kansas Christmas tree farm.

The Prairie Dell Pines Christmas tree farm in Ellis has been chosen to provide trees for the governor’s mansion and the home of the Kansas State University president.

The Hays Daily News reports that a 6½-foot southwestern white pine will be planted at the home of Kansas State President Kirk Schulz’s home this Tuesday. A tree lighting is scheduled for Thanksgiving.

A Scotch pine will be dedicated during a ceremony Nov. 16 at the governor’s mansion in Topeka.

Prairie Dell Pines is run by Lynn and Karla Davignon. They and their three children all attended Kansas State.

The Kansas Christmas Tree Growers Associaton chose the Davignons to donate the tree to the governor’s family.
