Kansas Highway Patrol plans stepped up enforcement after KU-K-State game on Thursday

In an effort to reduce the number of impaired drivers on the roads after the game, state troopers will be conducting a RAVE, or Roving Aggressive Violation Enforcement.

You can expect increased traffic on the Kansas Turnpike on Thursday as the Kansas Jayhawks prepare to take on the Kansas State Wildcats.

This will be the first game this year when all of Lawrence’s turnpike exits are open, however the construction between Lawrence and the Tonganoxie/Eudora exit will still mean many challenges for motorists

The Kansas Highway Patrol is urging travelers to be prepared for delays, plan for extra — and make sure you have a sober driver.

Motorists can expect to see an increase in troopers on Lawrence’s roads. They’ll be saturating the area and looking for anyone who’s not driving safely.
