The Just Food bank has received an overabundance of food from Harvesters Community Food Network in Kansas City, Mo.

It has approximately 2,000 pounds each of iceberg lettuce, potatoes, apples, nectarines and prepared mashed potatoes.

Carolyn Ward, interim coordinator of the Douglas County food bank, encourages any Douglas County resident to stop by and pick up some food.

The pantry, 1200 E. 11th St., is open 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
