In YouTube video address, Kansas governor says state’s economy is looking up

? Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson is using a new video editorial to drive home his message that the state’s economy is heading in the right direction.

The posting is on the Democratic governor’s website, and you can watch it below.

Parkinson says as Kansas approaches its 150th birthday in January — the same month he leaves office — it’s important to remember how much the state’s finances have improved. He notes a sales tax increase this year prevented additional budget cuts.

He also sees a new 10-year transportation program as an important investment.

Many Republicans disagree that the state is on the right track. They argue the state needs to create more private sector jobs.
