Next ‘Harry Potter’ flick will be 2-D only

October 9, 2010

— The new “Harry Potter” film won’t be as dimensional as it was supposed to be.

Warner Bros. Studios says the seventh installment in the popular boy-wizard franchise will be released only in standard 2-D, not 3-D as planned.

The studio said in a statement Friday that it was unable to complete the 3-D conversion of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” in time for its scheduled Nov. 19 release date, and it didn’t want to keep fans waiting.

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” will be released in both 2-D and 3-D on July 15, 2011.

This is AWESOME!!!! I was so bummed out when I heard that Deathly Hallows was going to be in 3D. There are just some movies that don't need the gimmicks and the 3D would not have added anything significant to the movie, so I am happy that it will be in 2D.

I think I'm either getting old or really lame because every 3D movie I go to I end up leaving with a horrible headache. They even have the new Saw movie in 3D. It was cool at first but now I'm just ready to go see a movie without wearing those uncomfortable glasses. Man, I really am lame!!
