4-H and FCE news

Kanwaka FCE will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Mary Alice James, 1951 E. 850 Road.

The lesson, “Green Choices: Selecting, Preparing and Serving Meals,” will be presented by Beverly Bourque.

The September lesson, “Cut the Clutter and Get Organized,” was given by Mary Ann Strong.

The Clinton Eagles 4-H Club‘s September meeting was held at Wakarusa Valley School and was called to order by Kirstyn Heine, president. Roll call was answered by “Name Your Favorite Snack Food.” Morgan Manger, secretary, read the minutes from the last meeting and the June meeting. Tessa Lieber read the treasurer’s report.

Lanaea Heine, community leader, talked about club elections, pin applications/KAP’s, officer in training dates, the achievement celebration, community service ideas, the Maple Leaf parade, and CWF and ambassador applications. An announcement was made about putting up fliers in different schools and ways to promote 4-H during National 4-H week, Oct. 3-9. Club elections were held and new officers were announced. Old business included fair auction animal purchase and a call for new members.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at Wakarusa Valley School.

The India FCE will meet at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the home of Faye Young, 426 Neb. The lesson, “Green Choices,” will be presented by Genny Hunsinger. Roll call will be answered by favorite Halloween costume, and officers will be elected.

The 59ers FCE will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Ginny Kubota, 2828 Tomahawk Dr. The lesson, “First Aid At Home,” will be given by Kubota. Co-hostess will be Kathy Mulinazzi.
