Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal endorses Jerry Moran in race for U.S. Senate

October 4, 2010

— Gov. Bobby Jindal has backed a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Kansas — but he's refused to make endorsements in a list of federal races in Louisiana so far.

Jindal's office issued a statement saying he was supporting GOP Congressman Jerry Moran in the Kansas Senate race. Jindal called Moran an advocate for taxpayers and fiscally responsible.

Though the primaries are done and the list of Republican candidates is one to a race, Jindal hasn't issued any endorsements in Louisiana's elections, including the U.S. Senate race where Republican incumbent David Vitter faces Democrat Charlie Melancon in the Nov. 2 election.

Jindal's spokesman, Kyle Plotkin, ignored repeated questions Monday about why the governor has chosen to endorse a candidate elsewhere but won't offer recommendations to voters in his home state.

And why should we care whether the governor of Louisiana endorses a candidate for the senate race in Kansas?

Ditto. Why is this news, or surprising?

Oh great! Maybe we can be the next Louisiana! I've got an idea - let's elect Sam Brownback governor too! Then we can be just like New Orleans!

Doesn't he have his own state to worry about? After the handling of Katrina and his speech after the convention, an endorsement from him would seem like "the kiss of death". Just sayin'.

This is the guy who gave the sing-song, kindergarten rebuttal to Obama's first congressional address?

He is also the guy who once took part in an exorcism.
