Haskell wins first game

October 3, 2010

Ryan Alden threw three touchdowns passes to lead the Haskell football team to its first victory of the season. Haskell defeated Trinity Bible College, 27-14, on Saturday in its homecoming game.

Trinity led 7-6 at halftime, but Haskell (1-4) recovered a fumble on the first play of the second half and scored a touchdown on the next play.

Victor Demarco scored on a 48-yard pass from Alden to give Haskell the lead for good.

Well that should be a proud moment...

You beat what is generally considered one of the worst football teams in the country. "The school has gained attention in recent years due to its struggling football team, which once lost a game to Rockford College who ran the score up with first string guys in the fourth quarter, by a score of 105 to 0, as chronicled in the 2005 book Keeping the Faith by Shawn Fury."
