University Bridge Club announces results of its Sept. 25 meeting with hosts Dale and Wanda Kring.

Blue winners were Florence McNicoll, first; Dale Kring, second; Paul Jordan, third; Tom Waller, fourth; and Janet Dunn, fifth.

Pink winners were Hazel Stellmacher, first; Edna Galle, second; Lois Liebert, third; Wanda Kring, fourth; and Dottie Miller, fifth.

The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game of Sept. 22 was directed by Chris Lane. North-South winners were Chris Lane and Carol Ball, first in A and B; Polly Schoning and Judy Hildreth, second in A; Ken McCullough and John Fittell, third in A; Al Ballard and Margrete Hartman, fourth in A, second in B, and first in C; and Dianne Childs and Deborah Fair, third in B. 

East-West winners were Steven Vossler and Vince Nordberg, first in A; John Oxley and John Turner, second in A; Yvonne Hedges and Virginia Seaver, third in A; Jan O’Connor and Lois Clark, fourth in A and first in B; and Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel, second in B and first in C.

The Thursday Morning Duplicate Mentor Bridge Club’s game of Sept. 23 was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Hanni Zellman and Barbara Haverty, first; Jean Khatib and Chris Lane, second; Debbie Bettinger and Bob Hemenway, third; and Ann Tams and Patricia Lechtenberg, fourth.

The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game of Sept. 24 was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Chris Lane and Jan O’Connor, first in A and B; Steven Vossler and Larry Weatherholt, second in A; James Gunn and Virginia Seaver, third in A; and Mark Osborn and Bobby Patton, fourth in A and second in B.

East-West winners were John Turner and John Oxley, first in A; Shirley Reese and Yvonne Hedges, second in A and first in B; Dick Shaffer and Jack Flickinger, third in A, second in B, and first in C; David Piro and Paul Heitzman, fourth in A; and Jean Otney and Florine Creek, third in B.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game of Sept. 27 was held as a “pro-am” game where top-ranked players were paired with lower-ranked players and was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Steven Vossler and Adelaide Nyquist, first in A; James Masilamani and Angie Davidson, second in A; Don Childers and Brian Barrett, third in A and first in B; and Julia Dalton and Judy Bevan, second in B.

East-West winners were Emily Foster and Donna Johnson, first in A; Jan O’Connor and Shirley Reese, second in A and first in B; and Debbie Bettinger and Ed Howard, third in A.

Northeast Kansas Unit of the American Contract Bridge League held the qualifying round of the North American Pairs competition. Qualifiers move on to the District competition in Kansas City next month. The two-session qualifying game was held at the Kaw Valley Bridge Center and was directed by Chris Lane. Winners and qualifiers were Chuck Malcolm and Marti Malcolm, first in A; John Oxley and John Turner, second in A; Steven Vossler and Larry Weatherholt, third in A; Ann Nellis and Bob Nellis, fourth in A, and first in B and C; Eldon Herd and Shari Krentzel, fifth in A and second in B; Craig Huneke and Jeremy Martin, sixth in A and third in B; Polly Schoning and Deborah Fair, fourth in B; John Fittell and Adelaide Nyquist, fifth in B and second in C; Vince Russo and James Gross, sixth in B; and Bobby Patton and Eleanor Patton, third in C.

Other qualifiers included Judy Hildreth and Dianne Childs in B; and Marilyn Martin and Jack Flickinger, and Jim Stewart and Vince Nordberg in C.
