Baylor defeats KU volleyball

Kansas University’s volleyball team, which defeated Baylor in Texas earlier this season, fell to the Bears, 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-12), on Wednesday in Horejsi Center.

Freshman libero Brianne Riley had 22 digs, followed by 12 from Nicole Tate and 11 from Melissa Manda. KU had 71 digs to BU’s 69. Caroline Jarmoc had nine blocks, including three solo rejections.

Jenna Kaiser and Karina Garlington had 12 kills apiece. Mayfield had 11.

KU fell to 16-12 overall and 7-10 in the league. BU improved to 15-13, 8-9.

The Jayhawks will meet Texas at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Austin, Texas.
