Wichita police shoot man who allegedly had rifle
Wichita ? A man shot by Wichita police after allegedly pointing a rifle at them has died.
KFDI reports that police were responding to a report of shots being fired early Friday and saw the man run from a home.
Deputy Chief Nelson Mosley says police confronted the man several blocks away and shot him after he pointed a long rifle at officers. The man later died at a hospital.
Last Friday, Wichita police shot and killed a 32-year-old man in southeast Wichita. He also allegedly aimed a semi-automatic handgun at officers before he was shot.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating both shootings, which is standard procedure.
