— A man shot by Wichita police after allegedly pointing a rifle at them has died.

KFDI reports that police were responding to a report of shots being fired early Friday and saw the man run from a home.

Deputy Chief Nelson Mosley says police confronted the man several blocks away and shot him after he pointed a long rifle at officers. The man later died at a hospital.

Last Friday, Wichita police shot and killed a 32-year-old man in southeast Wichita. He also allegedly aimed a semi-automatic handgun at officers before he was shot.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating both shootings, which is standard procedure.

And last I knew Wichita has their own unit which investigates officer's shootings.

I should correct my last post (not enough coffee). WPD does investigate their own shootings, but they do have KBI agents involved as an independant party so there is another agency looking at it.

And Smitty, KBI does investigate LE, I have seen numerous stories about them in the past. Now, keep in mind they need evidence (and not the kind that is thought up in someone's mind, because they don't like what was done or the outcome of a situation).
