I-70, K-7 interchange to reopen Wednesday
The interchange at Interstate 70 and Kansas Highway 7 is expected to reopen before rush hour Wednesday morning.
Access from K-7 to I-70 was shut down in both directions last Thursday after an oversized semitrailer carrying an excavator hit the ramp bridge.
Inspection work over the weekend determined that several beams on the ramp bridge were damaged and needed to be repaired before the interchange could reopen to traffic. This evening, crews are scheduled to conduct repairs to the ramp bridge.
Until Wednesday, the Kansas Department of Transportation said drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes. As alternatives, drivers can use U.S. Highway 24 or State Avenue to the north and Kansas Highway 10 to the south.
