Wellsville — Dalton Hughes had 19 carries for 168 yards and two touchdowns as Wellsville High ran over Neodesha, 55-12, in a Class 3A state football playoff game Saturday.

Hughes rushed for TDs of two and 26 yards, and Jesse LaMay added two touchdown runs of five and two yards for Wellsville (10-1).

WHS will play the Silver Lake-Riley County winner on Friday.

De Soto downs Piper

De Soto — Ryan Hicks rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries to lead De Soto to a 34-15 victory over Piper on Saturday in the Class 4A playoffs.

Jeff Bowen threw for a touchdown pass and ran for 130 yards on 20 carries. Gabe Hamilton added two touchdowns.

De Soto (7-4) moves on to play Louisburg on Friday.
