Kansas University senior Nate Barbee on Wednesday was named Big 12 Golfer of the Month for October.

Barbee became the third Jayhawk and first since the fall of 2003 to earn the award since its inception in 2002-03. The Dakota Dunes, S.D. native joins former KU honorees Kris Marshall (October 2002) and Andrew Price (September 2003).

Barbee’s month included two top-10 finishes, including an individual title at the Bill Ross Intercollegiate on Oct. 18-19 in Kansas City, Mo. He also tied for 10th at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on Oct. 25-26 in Las Cruces, N.M.
