Veritas football eyes state title

Veritas Christian School’s football team isn’t content with its perfect, 8-0 regular season; the Eagles have their sights set on a state championship.

The first step to achieving that goal takes place at 7 tonight, when the Eagles play host to Flint Hills Christian at the Eagle’s Nest. The winner will move on to the championship game on Saturday.

Veritas easily beat Flint Hills in the season opener, 60-22.

“I do know that Flint Hills is dramatically improved, and we’re expecting a good, competitive game,” Veritas coach Doug Bennett said. “The guys aren’t going to take any team for granted, even with having beaten them earlier this season.”
