Suspect in Oklahoma woman’s abduction caught in Topeka

? Police say Kansas authorities have caught a man suspected of a string of crimes, including the kidnapping of an Oklahoma City woman last month.

Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Mike Klika says Topeka, Kan., authorities apprehended 51-year-old Carey Breshers Jr. on Sunday about 3:30 p.m. Klika says Breshers was caught after a gas station was robbed in Topeka. Police say Breshers tried to flee the scene in a cab but the driver recognized him and contacted authorities.

Police caught up to the cab and caught Breshers after a brief foot chase.

Breshers is charged in Oklahoma County with assault with a dangerous weapon and robbery with a firearm and authorities say they’ll likely also seek kidnapping and rape charges against him. He’s now being held in a Topeka jail.
