Wichita gang member sentenced to 7 years

? A 30-year-old Wichita gang member has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison on racketeering and drug convictions.

Lonnie Wade was convicted in April 2009 of conspiracy to engage in racketeering, maintaining a residence in furtherance of drug trafficking and two counts of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine. The U.S. attorney’s office in Wichita announced the sentencing Tuesday.

Prosecutors say Wade was a member of the Crips gang, which used violence and threats to create an ongoing criminal drug trafficking enterprise.
