Oklahoma’s starting pitcher, Michael Rocha, allowed two runs (one earned) and five hits in eight-plus innings. Kansas right-hander T.J. Walz allowed just three hits as he took the loss.

Tony Thompson scored the Jayhawks’ first run and drove in the second. He walked and scored on an infield hit and error in the second inning. In the sixth, he hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Brandon Macias to score.

Oklahoma tied the game in the fifth inning when Reine scored.

The game started more than three hours late because of a rain delay in an earlier game.
