KU police search for copper thieves

Kansas University police are investigating a recurring problem. Three times this month, suspects stole scrap copper from a construction site on KU’s West Campus. All three incidents happened at the bioscience construction area, in the 2000 block of Becker Avenue. The first report dates back to May 7, when someone stole $1,000 worth of copper from the construction site. Then between May 18 and 19, KU police received two more reports of the theft of copper. The loss from those thefts is estimated at more than $2,000.
