Heere, Price named first-team All-Big 12

Kansas junior outfielder Brian Heere and senior infielder Robby Price both were selected to the All-Big 12 first team released Tuesday by the conference.

Heere, a Lawrence native, hit .403 during the regular season. He also led the conference in hits (89) and was fifth in on-base percentage (.481).

Price, also from Lawrence, hit .342 while leading the Jayhawks in doubles (19), triples (four) and runs scored (65).

KU senior pitcher Cameron Selik, junior infielder Tony Thompson, junior pitcher T.J. Walz and junior outfielder Jimmy Waters all earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades.

KU will start the Big 12 Championship with a 7:30 p.m. game Wednesday against Oklahoma at Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
