Manhattan ? Jeff Bell and Ross Geubelle both opened the Kansas Golf Association Public Links Championships with 1-over par 73s to lead after the first round on Saturday at Colbert Hills Golf Course.

Bell, from Wichita, is a Kansas University golfer. Geubelle, from Lakin, is a Kansas State University golfer.

Lawrence residents Chase Chamberlin and Conrad Roberts shot 78 and 79, respectively.
