The six-week northeast Kansas construction strike was over in the Lawrence-Topeka area. Workers appeared back on the jobs today after the last of the six striking unions reached agreement with the bargaining organization.

An open letter to KU Chancellor Laurence Chalmers from Kansas City area attorney John C. Gage was published in which Gage expressed his concern over the situation at the university and his opinions on Vietnam.

Local students were honored by the local chapter of the D.A.R. for their prize-winning history essays. Sixth-grader Barry Frank and seventh-grader Ruth Baer were congratulated for their first-place awards.

Six persons were treated and released at Lawrence hospitals as a result of injuries suffered in 17 vehicular accidents over the weekend.

A KU junior was robbed of $7 at knifepoint as she walked home from church at about 10:15 a.m. on the previous Sunday.
