Newton woman found guilty in bomb threat

? A Harvey County jury has found a Newton woman guilty of aggravated criminal threat in a bomb threat at a middle school dance.

The jury on Thursday found Annisa Payne guilty in connection with the threat from Jan. 30, 2009, which led to the evacuation of students and faculty from the dance at Santa Fe Middle School.

The Wichita Eagle reports that the 34-year-old defendant could face up to about 11 years in prison and a fine of up to $300,000. Sentencing has been set for July 20.

Harvey County Attorney David Yoder said Payne’s voice was identified on a 911 recording.

But Payne’s lawyer, Randall Fisher, presented several close friends and relatives who said the recorded voice was not hers.
