Alex Anderson

Alex Anderson

Age: 22.

Sign: Cancer.

Hometown: Lawrence.

Time in Lawrence: 22 years – I come and go, but it’s home.

Occupation: Art history and piano performance student.

What were you doing when scouted? Eating a burrito with my brother at First Watch.

How would you describe your style? Carefree and comfy – like a feather pillow without the down.

Favorite fashion trends: I don’t really follow fashion trends, I just kind of do my own thing.

Least favorite fashion trends: Too much of anything is not a good thing. I don’t like to recognize that someone’s part of a clique before I meet them – you lose a sense of individuality. But then again, you can’t judge a book by its cover, but people usually do.

What would you like to see more of in Lawrence? Lawrence could use a piazza – a town square complete with a big fountain – so that everyone can get together from all walks of life.

What would you like to see less of in Lawrence? SUVs – they’re too big.

Who are your fashion influences? I don’t know any names, but if it suits me, I’m with it. If it’s mellow, I’m cool.

People say I look like: A slimmer version of Jack Black.

Tell us a secret: My secret hobby is botany. I have a rubber-tree, a parlor palm and an angel-winged begonia.

Jeans: Hobbs, April 2010, gift.

Shoes: Polo, March 2010, $60.
