Lawmakers push for health care challenge

May 1, 2010

— A Kansas House committee has endorsed a resolution directing Attorney General Steve Six to challenge the new federal health care law.

The Appropriations Committee’s voice vote Friday forwards the measure to the House for debate next week.

The resolution directs Six to file suit himself or join a lawsuit challenging the law filed by attorneys general in other state.

Under Kansas law, only one chamber must pass such a resolution to direct the attorney general to challenge the constitutionality of a state or federal statute.

Very very dumb and a waste of tax dollars.

This is more about Tea Party Republican politics than subatance which is unethical behavior!

Why is it that the ones fighting hardest against Health Care are the ones who already have great coverage?!?

Why is the Appropriations Committee working on this? Don't they have something more important to work on such as the STATE BUDGET?
