The Kanwaka 4-H Club met April 12 at the Kanwaka Township Hall. The meeting was called to order by president Stuart Wakeman. The pledge of allegiance and the club pledge were led by Alex McMillan and Joe Ward. Roll called, led by secretary Kyle Rainey, was answered by, “What was your favorite thing you did this winter?” Sixteen members and two guests were present.

Mariah Dickson gave the treasurer and county council reports. There will be a lock-in May 14-15 at the Dreher building. Jenine Leslie reported the club went on a behind-the-scenes tour at McDonald’s. The club also held water bottles for runners in the April 18 marathon. Cairy Rainey gave purple ribbons to Morgan Leslie and Alex Price, and a blue ribbon to Kyliegh Leslie, for participating in regional 4-H club days.

In new business, the club agreed to do the concession stand in the mornings during the Douglas County Fair and a pop trailer Wednesday night during the swine show. Jenalee Dickson then gave demonstration on how to make dust busters. Alex McMillan gave a report on the different types of horse bits. Morgan Leslie led the club in “Duck, Duck, Goose.”

It was announced the Dicksons will do hall cleaning, and Stuart Wakeman and Mariah Dickson will give presentations at the next meeting which is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 10 at the hall.

The meeting was adjourned with the club motto.
