A 32-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Tuesday evening on charges of aggravated assault and domestic battery. Lawrence Police Sgt. David Hubbel said the incident was complicated by a language barrier between officers and the family.

A man inside a residence in the 1700 block of West 25th Street believed his sister had taken money from him. The man threatened her with a knife.

Hubbel said the man had put the knife away before officers arrived at the scene. The man was arrested and booked into the Douglas County Jail just after 6 p.m.

No one was injured during the incident.

In other words, at Cedarwood Apartments who has decided there is big money in renting to Mexican immigrants, most that do not speak English. The neighborhood is now full of loud music and drunks all night. Their turnover is very high and little maintenance is being done. All the homeowners in the area should sue Cedarwood for loss of property value.

Are there any city ordinances as to how many unrelated people can occupy a two bedroom apartment?
