Coach Bert Kennedy says he believes the spring practice will do much to prepare the Jayhawks for the fall season. . . . The seismograph at the university registered at earthquake, though not here, at 11:45 this morning. It lasted about 35 minutes and registered a north and south movement. Then there was a three-minute pause and more movement. It is not clear, but it is believed the quake is far from here. Instruments in St. Louis also registered a quake. . . . The weather department forecasts that there may be a frost here tonight. Guard your blossoms and if the wind dies down you should keep a slow fire or smudge pot in your orchards. Experts say fruit can be saved in this manner. . . . The local street car company says it is looking at building an amusement park in Lawrence and that if it is patronized as well as the street cars have been it will be a success.
