Immediate needs

• The LMH Food and Nutrition Services Department is developing a new volunteer service beginning in May. This service will consist of a volunteer being assigned to a nursing unit and visiting with patients about their lunch and dinner menu selections for that day, and breakfast for the next day. The volunteer will then take those meal requests to the Food and Nutrition Department. Volunteer shifts are available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. every day of the week. Five volunteers are needed each day. Volunteers may sign up for one or more shifts per week. The nutrition ambassadors should be customer service-oriented volunteers with excellent written and verbal communication skills and who have the ability to use a cell phone. Additional training for ambassadors will be given by Food and Nutrition staff.
