Over the Rainbow Doll Club met March 11 at the home of Val Fittell. Special guest Rowena brought wedding dolls from her grandparents’ wedding cake to share with the club members. Members are busy planning for the club doll birthday party and the fall open meeting. Fittell gave a lesson on mannequin dolls. One of the various reasons mannequin dolls were made was to encourage girls to learn how to sew. The club celebrated 80 years of Girl Scout cookies by having a variety of cookies for refreshments. An April program is being planned on American Girl Dolls.

The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on March 10 was directed by Chris Lane. North-South winners were Mary Treece and Barbara McCorkle, first in A, B and C; Klee Zaricky and John Oxley, second in A; Larry Weatherholt and Peter Petillo, third in A; Janice Hollowell and Mary Fenlon, fourth in A; Patricia Lechtenberg and Chris Lane, fifth in A and second in B; Lois Clark and Jan O’Connor, third in B; and Margrete Hartman and Nita Scales, second in C.

East-West winners were Mark Osborn and Bobby Patton, first in A and B; David Piro and Paul Heitzman, second in A; Elizabeth Jankord and partner, third in A; Ann Thompson and Gary Joyce, fourth in A, second in B, and first in C; and Mona Bell and Carol Ball, fifth in A, third in B, and second in C.

The Thursday Morning Mentor Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on March 11 was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Shirley Reese and Angie Davidson, first; Barbara Haverty and Virginia Seaver, second; and Doris Sindt and Nita Scales tied in third with Debbie Bettinger and John Reese.

The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on March 12 was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Steven Vossler and Larry Weatherholt, first in A; Betty Collier and Lester Dalton, second in A and first in B; Mary Treece and Gary Joyce, third in A, second in B, and first in C; Mary Fenlon and Nita Scales, fourth in A; Eldon Herd and Jean Otney, fifth in A and third in B; and Jean Khatib and Jolene Andersen, fourth in B and second in C.

East-West winners were Yvonne Hedges and Shirley Reese, first in A and B; Elizabeth Jankord and John Oxley, second in A; Adelaide Nyquist and John Fittell, third in A, second in B, and first in C; Dianne Childs and Judy Hildreth, fourth in A; Jan O’Connor and Ann Thompson, fifth in A, third in B, and second in C; Madelyn Jenks and Mona Bell, fourth in B; and John Reese and Arkie Vaughn tied for third in C with Dick Shaffer and Jack Flickinger.

The Sunday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on March 14 was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Craig Huneke and Jeremy Martin, first in A and B; Chris Lane and Jan O’Connor, second in A; Chuck Hedges and Yvonne Hedges, third in A; and Marilyn Martin and Jean Khatib, second in B.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on March 15 was directed by Virginia Seaver. North-South winners were Lois Jones and Chris Lane, first in A; Peter Petillo and David Piro, second in A; Virginia Seaver and Craig Huneke, third in A; and John Fittell and Kent McCullough, fourth in A.

East-West winners were James Masilamani and Donna Johnson, first in A; Yvonne Hedges and Shirley Reese tied for second in A with Jerry Sloan and Lois Clark; Hedges and Reese were also first in B; and Judy Bevan and Adelaide Nyquist, second in B and first in C.

University Bridge Club announces results of its March 13 meeting, with hosts Dale and Wanda Kring and Dottie Miller.

Blue winners were Alice Akin, first; Al Smith, second; Walt Hicks, third; John Stark, fourth; and John Golden, fifth.
