Authorities seek suspect in nightclub stabbings

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was searching Sunday for a suspect in connection with two stabbings that reportedly occurred outside The Outhouse, 1837 North 1500 Rd.

According to Douglas County Sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Lewis, deputies were dispatched at 1:53 a.m. to Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where they contacted a 37-year-old Overland Park man and a 42-year-old Lee’s Summit, Mo., man who had suffered non-life-threatening knife wounds.

The men reported they were assaulted at about 12:30 a.m. by a slender 5-foot-6 white man with brown hair. The suspect was last seen leaving the area in a dark-colored SUV. He was armed with a weapon that looked like a large box knife.

An Overland Park Regional Medical Center spokesperson could not provide updates on the two victims Sunday night.
